Chapter History
The Aberdeen-Edgewood “Silver” Chapter was originally chartered in 1974, shortly after the creation of the USAWOA.
This Chapter was formed for the Warrant Officers serving on Aberdeen Proving Ground and its satellite installation located in Edgewood.
The Chapter centered on the Ordnance Center and School which provided the majority of the Active duty officer population, as well as the Edgewood area National Guard and Aviation members.
A USAWOA By Law change in 2006 permitted chapters with 25 years of continuous service to request “Silver” status, a designation previously only given to original chapters when the Association was formed.
In 2007 the Aberdeen-Edgewood Chapter requested and was granted that designation.
Our chapter is now and will always be known as the Aberdeen-Edgewood “Silver” Chapter.
